 Accommodation Information Sessions

The office of Accommodation Services offers accommodation information sessions in the lead-up to each semester. If you are arriving outside these dates, please visit the office of Accommodation Services.

Renting in Queensland is regulated by the Residential Tenancies Authority, who dictates, by law, the rights and responsibilities of all tenants and lessors. It is very important that students interested in rental accommodation attend a session before they make any legal housing commitments.

Sessions cover the following topics:

  • How to search for available accommodation
  • Information about suburbs - schools, shopping and transport
  • Applying for a house or unit
  • Moving in - getting the paperwork right
  • Your rights and responsibilities during the tenancy
  • Ending your tenancy
  • Share accommodation
