Application procedure
- Explore the websites and fact sheets for each college and decide on your college of preference.
- If you are applying to Cromwell College, Emmanuel College, International House or Kings College, you can submit an application online.
- You can download the college application form below and fax it to any college (fax numbers are included on the form).

- It can help to remain in regular email contact with your preferred college.
* Different colleges have different application closing dates; please refer to your preferred college website for details.
When will I know if I have a place?
- Colleges will provide a response to your completed application within 10 working days of submission, providing that the information above states that applications are open for that particular college.
- If you do not receive a response from the college within 10 days, please contact your preferred college directly.
*Should you apply to a college that is not advertising vacancies, your application form may simply be put aside until the college is ready to start processing application forms.*
What is a completed application?
To be complete, a college application must contain:
- The application form
- Your $55 application fee made payable to your preffered college (cheque or credit card details – see the online application procedure or form for further details)
- Confirmation of Enrolment from UQ and student visa
- Academic transcripts – if you have undertaken study at another university
- Referees reports
- Four passport size photographs
- Other documents requested by the specific college
What if my application is not approved?
If you do not get a place at the first college you apply for, you can ask for your application to be forwarded to any other college advertising vacancies. Please contact your first college directly, and ask them to send on your application.
What if I do not get a place at any college?
Return to the Accommodation Services homepage, and look into the off-campus accommodation options. The University of Queensland has it’s own dedicated Accommodation Office, and staff there can lend advice and assistance both before you leave home, and after arrival at UQ.
